Frequently Asked Questions
Why mobile physiotherapy?
For many people, getting to and from appointments, especially when an injury has occurred, adds an an extra challenge to the rehab process. Having a physiotherapist come to their own comfortable environment can make the whole process easier. It also lets the therapist see how the person functions in their own space on a day to day basis.
Do I need a referral?
A physician referral is not needed to access physiotherapy care in Manitoba. The physiotherapist will gladly receive a referral or any other information from your family doctor, specialist, or surgeon. The physiotherapist will also correspond with them as needed, but a doctor's referral is not necessary to see a physiotherapist.

Do you have a physical clinic space?
No, Shaun Neufeldt Mobile Physiotherapy is a completely mobile service. If needed, the physiotherapist will bring a portable treatment table to each appointment, along with any other needed equipment. Since much of the rehab process happens independently on a daily basis, in between physiotherapy appointments, the goal is to make progress at home without needing a great deal of specialized equipment.

Do you provide service in personal care homes?
Yes, absolutely! The physiotherapist has been providing care to clients in personal care homes throughout the Southern Health region for many years and is very familiar with all the care homes in the region. In some cases, PCH staff are even able to assist with carrying out physiotherapy recommendations such as exercise or walking programs.

What should I wear for my appointment?
In most cases, shorts and a loose fitting t-shirt work very well. Loose fitting pants or a skirt are fine as long as the therapist is able to access the body part being addressed. For example, if treating a client's knee after surgery, the pant leg need to be loose enough to pull up over the knee. If we are looking at a shoulder issue, a tank top or sleeveless shirt is often helpful, but not absolutely necessary.

What kind of payment do you accept?
At this time, we are accepting cash, cheque, or e-transfer.

Will my insurance cover this treatment?
Many insurance plans do offer extended health benefits which usually include physiotherapy. Each plan will have a different level of coverage, typically offered up to a certain yearly maximum. It is suggested that you call your insurance provider or check online to see if your plan covers physiotherapy care. At this time, we are not offering direct billing to insurance companies, but a receipt will be provided for each appointment (usually emailed to you or your family member) and those receipts can be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement.
Do you accept MPI or WCB claims?
At this time we are seeing MPI clients for mobile home visits, but not WCB clients. If you are having difficulties related to a workplace injury, we suggest you contact a physiotherapy clinic in your area.
